RALEIGH, N.C. — A Garner man has been arrested and will be facing charges related to a crash that happened on April 9 that killed two people.

Deputies with the Wake County Sheriff's Office arrested Louis Francis Fruzzetti III. He is facing charges of felony death by vehicle and altering, stealing or destroying criminal evidence. His bond was set for $200,000 on Wednesday night.

Fruzzetti is alleged to have been driving in excess of 100 mph along westbound I-40 around 4:30 a.m. on April 9. Troopers with the NC State Highway Patrol said Fruzzetti rear-ended a vehicle, which then went into the median and into the path of a trash truck. The driver of both vehicles were killed.

Investigators said Fruzzetti fled the scene and then tried to sell his vehicle to a scrap yard in Fayetteville to destroy the vehicle and evidence.
