Deputies with the Wake County Sheriff's Office said a Garner man has been arrested for assaulting a female and misdemeanor child abuse.

<b>MORRISVILLE, N.C.</b> — Morrisville Police said a Garner man has been arrested for assaulting a female and for misdemeanor child abuse.

Demitri Michael Palumbo was arrested on June 24 by officers and held without bond at the Wake County Jail. His first court appearance was June 24.

Warrants for Palumbo's arrest state he shoved Joy Ann Pascual Palumbo to the ground with force. He then transported a child in a vehicle without proper seat belt restraint after the assault.
