It will rain, but no single day a washout among next six

Rain is in the forecast every day through Thursday, although no single day looks like a total washout, WRAL meteorologist Mike Maze said.

After a brief flirtation with the sun Friday afternoon, rain moves in overnight and sticks around for the first part of Saturday.

"Timing is now dictating that the rain could end by the early afternoon for much of the region and shift eastward to the coast," Maze said. "The bottom line is that Saturday does not look like a total loss."

A chill will make the damp feel even damper. Saturday's high temperature forecast is only in the upper 40s.

Cloud cover builds back in Sunday with a lesser chance for rain during the day and a greater chance later in the evening and overnight.

"Regardless, if you go out, have your umbrella with you Sunday and Sunday night," Maze said.

Hourly forecast

The work week brings a bit of a warmup, but it won't dry out. The forecast calls for a chance of rain Monday – the nicest day with a high near 60 degrees – then steady rain on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
