RALEIGH, N.C. — The Carolina Hurricanes begin their 2018-19 season at home on Oct. 4 and will have five homestands of three games or longer.

The NHL released the full league schedule Thursday, a day before the NHL Draft in Dallas.

Carolina's season includes plenty of highlights, including a visit from the Stanley Cup champion Washington Capitals in mid-December.

Twenty-seven of Carolina's 41 home games will be played on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays.

A season-long six-game homestand begins Nov. 23 and runs through the week of Thanksgiving, and the team's bye week will come Jan. 27-31, immediately following the NHL All-Star break from Jan. 24-26.
