Durham police took a man and woman into custody Wednesday night after they barricaded themselves in a hotel room, police said.

People staying at the Extended Stay Hotel on Tower Road in Durham told WRAL's Rosalia Fodera police came to their door and told them they had to evacuate. They also said the hotel’s power was cut.

A call came in around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday regarding the situation. Officials said it ended around 9:30 p.m. after negotiators talked both to come out. There were no injuries.

Officials said Christopher Thomas Vaughn was a fugitive with numerous felony warrants. Vaughan was arrested on charges of parole violation, assault by strangulation, assault on a female and numerous fraud charges. He was placed in Durham County Jail under no bond.

Also arrested was Brittany Nicole Warren, who was arrested on charges of felony probation violation, aiding and abetting and several fraud charges. She was placed in Durham County Jail under a $10,000 bond.
