— Authorities closed a section of Avent Ferry Road Sunday evening after a fuel tanker at a Circle K convenience store sprung a leak while trying to restock the store's supply of gasoline, authorities said.

The incident occurred around 10 p.m. at the Circle K located at 3289 Avent Ferry Road.

Authorities reopened the road shortly after 11 p.m., officials said.

Raleigh firefighters were called to the scene when the fuel leak was reported.

Authorities said the tanker truck was offloading gasoline into storage tanks at the store when the truck began leaking fuel. Authorities were working to get a second tanker truck dispatched to the scene.

No injuries have been reported.

The accident prompted authorities to shut down part of Avent Ferry from Gorman Street to Greek Way while the worked to stop the leak.

It was not immediately clear when Avent Ferry Road would reopen to traffic.
