Frontier adding nonstop RDU-San Diego flight

Posted June 5, 2018 3:24 p.m. EDT

— Low-cost carrier Frontier Airlines will add nonstop flights from Raleigh-Durham International Airport to San Diego this summer, airport officials said Tuesday.

"San Diego is our current top unserved nonstop destination. This is an important West Coast connection for our region, with many business, leisure and military ties," RDU President and Chief Executive Michael Landguth said in a statement. "We’re excited that once again Frontier Airlines continues to invest in Raleigh-Durham International Airport and the Triangle community, bringing big comfy jets and really affordable fares for our travelers."

The twice-weekly flights – on Wednesdays and Saturdays – will start August 15. Flights from RDU will leave at 10:37 a.m. and arrive in San Diego at 1:12 p.m. Pacific time, with the return flights leaving San Diego at 12:52 p.m. Pacific time and arriving at RDU at 9:24 p.m.

Frontier currently has 20 nonstop destinations from RDU.
