Where were you? RDU Airport - DELTA AIR LINES

Had to work on this day 10 yrs. ago at RDU. There was never a more eerie feeling than to pull into an airport & be able to hear a pin drop!! We - the "AIRLINES" as a whole - lost part of our family that day - the crew members & the passengers. This was a day that ALL airline employees came together as a whole to mourn & to support one another through through the shock. I will NEVER forget where I was on this day 10 yrs. ago... the job we had to do & the lives we touched doing it .. ensuring each diverted passenger was taken care of. I met a special elderly man that day. His family came up from SC to pick him up.. he was on his way to FL. when his plane got diverted. A co-worker of mine (friend) and myself stayed till almost 8pm that day to ensure he was picked up and taken care of. We will NEVER FORGET the impact 9/11 left on our lives forever. The day the airline industry was changed FOREVER!!

9/11 ended up costing me my job at DL about a year later due to stations downsizing. The one thing I had always wanted to become, was taken away from me because of the terroist attacks. Also, My brother was a firefighter at Benhaven that was touched deepley (as we all were) by the tragedy. He went to his pastor asking him to pray with him and to try to help him understand. One month after 9/11 ten yrs. ago.. I lost my brother to a firey tragedy of his own. (Oct.15, 2001). This time of year is never good for me.
