Thanks to Lisa, with Mt. Zion UMC who contacted me this week about a fabulous FREE Vegetable plant giveaway being held at many Triangle locations this weekend and next. The giveaway is through Grow and Share and each family can get an average of 12-16 plants (while quantities last).
The concept is that you receive free plants from Grow and Share and sign a pledge to share some of your veggies with friends, neighbors, the food bank and anyone else who can benefit from your bounty. It's a wonderful way to help others and help your family to enjoy healthy, high quality produce.
Here are some more details about the Grow and Share Annual Plant Giveaway including locations and times:
To receive free garden plants:
1. Come to one of the giveaways listed below.
2. Choose your plants (est. 12 to 16 per family).
3. Fill out and sign the Pledge To Share your harvest.
4. Take your plants home, plant them, and care for them.
to ensure needy families in your community benefit directly as you harvest.
*Plants are given away on a first come, first served basis. When they are gone, they’re gone.
