Polar Ice House of Cary Offers Free Introductory Hockey Lessons for Kids
Free Skate and Hockey Open House for Aspiring Young Players

Cary, NC  – Introduce your kids to the exciting world of hockey this weekend! Join Polar Ice House’s Cary location for its “Rink Rats” hockey event on Saturday, March 3rd from 1:15 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. during public skate with the purchase of admission and skate rentals.

Polar Ice House’s hockey event will allow children to see if hockey is a sport they love without requiring parents to make a monetary commitment. Kids age three to five can freely skate around the rink or participate in a mini-hockey lesson given by Polar Ice House’s experienced instructors. Mini-lessons will be given at a blocked-off section of the rink so kids can learn the fundamentals of the thrilling sport of hockey without being overwhelmed by the crowds at open skate.

“Polar Ice House’s hockey event is a budget-friendly, interactive way for parents to spend the day with their kids,” said Randy Lee, Polar Ice House general manager. “The program allows children to be exposed to different experiences and to learn new skills, while also having fun at the same time.”

Polar Ice House will also provide an equipment bag that includes a helmet, shin guards, gloves, hockey pants, elbow pads, stick, jersey and socks for use throughout the open skate session, all for free. Each lesson is limited to 20 players, and will run anywhere from 20-30 minutes. Please arrive by 1:00pm to sign up!

“Rink Rats” is Polar Ice House’s next step up after completing the Mice on Ice program. The program’s fun-filled classes, also for kids age three to five, feature instruction, drills, development activities, games and scrimmages. Mice on Ice, an introductory skating class for kids ages three to five, is the pre-requisite to Rink Rats.
