Franklinton man charged with raping girl
Raleigh police arrested a Franklinton man Wednesday and charged him with having sex with a 14-year-old girl, according to an arrest warrant.

Demario Laquonne Alston, 20, of 207 Hawkins St., Apt. 7B, was charged with statutory rape. He was being held in the Wake County jail under a $1 million bond.
The warrant states that Alston and the girl had sex on March 17.
Alston was serving a 24-month probation sentence stemming from convictions for misdemeanor assault inflicting serious bodily injury and felony attempted possession of a firearm by a felon, according to state Department of Correction records. He had a previous conviction for dealing drugs.
