Fourth suspect sought in slaying of Fremont man

Three men were charged with first-degree murder after police say they fatally shot a man in Fremont.

FREMONT, N.C. — Police in Fremont were searching for a fourth suspect in the killing of a man that has resulted in murder charges for three other suspects, authorities said.

Brandon Demarcus Haynes, 30, of Fremont is wanted in connection with the Dec. 15 fatal shooting of Nacarsa Ronyell Ford, 43, of Fremont, police said in a written statement. Investigators said Haynes, who is facing first-degree murder charges, is considered armed and dangerous and anyone with information about his whereabouts was asked to call Fremont police. 

Investigators have charged three other men with first-degree murder in Ford's slaying

Brandon Lee Williams, 31, of Goldsboro; Dequinta Laquell Horne, 26, of Pikeville; and Tyheim Pitt, 26, of Farmville were being held Wednesday in the Wayne County jail with no bond.

The Fremont Police Department said that officers responded to a shooting Dec. 15 and found 43-year-old Nacarsa Ronyell Ford, of Fremont, lying on the ground in front of 402 S. Goldsboro St.

Officers administered first aid, but emergency services declared Ford dead when they arrived.

Police have not yet publicly disclosed a motive for the killing or said how the men knew each other.
