Four adults, one teen shot in Wilson during party; no life-threatening injuries reported

Four people and one teenager were shot in Wilson at around 11 p.m. Saturday night, officials said.

WILSON, N.C. — Four adults and one teenager were shot in Wilson at around 11 p.m. Saturday night, officials said.

The shooting started after there was a "verbal altercation of some type" at a home on the 200 block of Dewey Street during a party, according to police.

The Wilson Police Department has not released information on a suspect at this time.

Dewey Street at Tarboro Road was blocked off in Wilson into early Sunday morning while police worked to investigate the scene.

When officers responded to the gunfire, they did not find any victims, a press release from the Wilson Police Department said.

All five victims were transported to local hospital for their injuries through private vehicles.

Officials say that none of the injures were life-threatening.

Neighbors in the area said they heard multiple gunshots fired. Several evidence markers were in yards on Dewey Street.
