Foul play suspected in Lumberton man's death

Police suspect foul play in the death of a man found dead in a Lumberton street Thursday.

The Lumberton Police Department said Stelton McMillan, 39, of Lumberton, was found lying on Wren Street, off Seneca Street, around 3:15 a.m.

Evidence at the scene suggests foul play, authorities said.

An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death, but a homicide investigation is underway, police said.

The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is assisting the police department.
