A Halifax County foster parent faces sexual assault charges, authorities said Tuesday.

<b>ENFIELD, N.C.</b> — A Halifax County foster parent faces sexual assault charges, authorities said Tuesday.

Alvin Thorne, 74, of Enfield, was charged with sexual assault in a parental role, second-degree rape and second-degree sexual offense. He was arrested Friday and has been released on a $75,000 bond.

Authorities didn't release any other details of the case.
