RALEIGH, N.C. — A Fort Bragg worker is facing federal charges of stealing government property, according to court documents.

Bryan Allen was indicted on the charges of theft of military property and conspiracy to commit the crime Tuesday. Allen is also facing two counts of aggravated identity theft and is accused of exploiting his position as property book officer for his battalion at Fort Bragg "to decrease the number of items shown in the possession of specific companies," U.S. Attorney Robert Higdon said in a written statement.

Allen is believed to have stolen more than $2 million worth of military property, including 43 enhanced night vision goggles, among other items.

If convicted, Allen could spend up to 19 years in prison, be fined up to $250,000 and serve up to three years on supervised release following his imprisonment.
