Fort Bragg investigating soldier death

Private Kathijah Anis Badrulhaimi, 22, of Apple Valley, Minn., died Nov. 8 in Fayetteville. Her cause of death was not released.

FORT BRAGG, N.C. — Fort Bragg officials said Tuesday they are investigating the death of a soldier with the 82nd Airborne Division.

Private Kathijah Anis Badrulhaimi, 22, of Apple Valley, Minn., died Nov. 8 in Fayetteville, officials said. They did not release more information on the cause of death.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of one of our finest soldiers,” Lt. Col. Brandon Meno, commander of the 3rd Battalion, 27th Field Artillery Regiment, said in a statement. “Private First Class Badrulhaimi was an outstanding soldier with a bright future. Our sincerest condolences go out to her family and the soliders of the 3-27 FAR in this trying time.”

Badrulhaimi entered active duty in April 2013 as a mechanic and went to basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C. She attended advanced training at Fort Lee, Va., and was assigned to the 82nd Airborne in October 2013.
