Former Rolesville Mayor Frank Eagles dies; 'leaves a great legacy'
Former Rolesville mayor Frank Eagles died on Thursday.
Posted — UpdatedThe town's current mayor, Ronnie Currin, submitted a post about on Facebook about Eagles' passing.
"With great sadness, Mayor Frank Eagles passing this morning was a shock to the Rolesville community. I worked along side of him for 18 years. Many of you have known him even longer."
Currin said Eagles 'leaves a great legacy' with his contributions to the town. According to Eagles' obituary, "his was a life full of service."
His obituary says he had a long career in the NC Department of Administration, and even after retirement, he continued serving his community and was eventually elected as mayor. For 12 years, he "led his town through a period of booming growth."
It's unclear how Eagles died. WRAL is reaching out to town officials for more information and reaction.
