Former Rocky Mount officer indicted on tampering charge
Christopher Douglas Johnson, 29, is charged with tampering with evidence, according to information released by the Rocky Mount Police Department.

Christopher Douglas Johnson, 29, is charged with tampering with evidence, according to information released by the department. He was an officer in Rocky Mount for nearly seven years.
The department released minimal information about the charge, citing personnel laws. An internal investigation led to the criminal investigation, police said.
Johnson surrendered to police Tuesday and was released on $30,000 bond. He's due in court Oct. 26.
