Former Franklin County Schools worker charged with having sex with students

A Franklin County Schools' employee was arrested Friday and charged with having sex with students, according to the Franklin County Sheriff's Department.

FRANKLINTON, N.C. — A former employee of Franklin County public schools was arrested Friday and charged with having sex with students, according to the Franklin County Sheriff's Department.

Damien Demont Jacobs, 26, of 48 Mary's Way in Franklinton, had held positions ranging from youth camp counselor to bus driver to cafeteria employee to teacher's assistant, a schools spokesman said. He was employed part-time by the district beginning in July 2005 and full-time from August 2010 until his resignation in May.

Jacobs was charged with two counts of statutory rape and five counts of a sexual act with a student by a school employee.

He was being held under a $125,000 bond. No other information was released.
