RALEIGH, N.C. — Food Lion and its food bank partners will be renovating food pantries at Wake Technical Community Colleges campuses Tuesday morning.

It’s all part of the Great Pantry Makeover, which puts more than $200,000 toward renovating five food pantries in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Maryland.

Food Lion’s team will build and install shelving at existing pantries across Wake Tech’s campuses.

The focus is to help them distribute fresh produce.

Food Lion will also host a pop-up produce market for low-income and homeless students.

Wake Tech says the pantries have helped feed thousands of students.

The makeover is expected to happen at 10 a.m.
