Food Drive to Benefit Meals on Wheels

Ten percent of seniors in North Carolina live in poverty. Twenty-one percent are threatened by hunger. COVID has exacerbated the situation, particularly since organizations like Meals on Wheels depend in large part on volunteers to home deliver about two-thirds of the meals they provide or serve them in communal settings of the other one-third. In 2019, Meals on Wheels NC provided 4,512,655 meals to seniors.
As communities get their programs back up and running, organizations like the Triangle National Aging in Place Council try to help. This Friday, March 26, the NAIPC is collecting breakfast foods for Meals on Wheels Breakfast Bag Program

Rain or shine, drop your breakfast foods (oatmeal, grits, instant coffee, tea, hot chocolate packets, juice boxes and granola bars) Friday, March 26, from 11 am to 1 pm at ComForCare Home Care on 3820 Merton Drive, Raleigh, NC 27609.

If you RSVP and let them know you are making a donation, they will provide a free Chick-Fil-A sandwich. RSVP here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/naipc-breakfast-bag-food-drive-to-benefit-meals-on-wheels-of-wake-county-registration-144506549981
