Last morning of refreshing weather before humid air, scattered storms return

The easterly flow of wind will bring us a better chance of storms in the afternoon.

There's one system in the Atlantic that has a good chance of developing and moving toward the coast of North Carolina. It will likely increase our rain chances, according to WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner.

The system has a 40% chance of developing in the next 5 days. Even if the system does not become a tropical system, it will still increase our rain chances and bring us more humidity.

You will begin to notice starting Tuesday that we will see more cloudy weather from this system.

At around lunchtime on Tuesday there is going to be some scattered storms across the Triangle. It will also feel much steamier.

The high pressure that brought us nice weather over the weekend will begin to move away from the Triangle on Tuesday, Gardner said.

Temperatures will be in the mid-80s Tuesday afternoon with a 40% chance of storms later in the evening.

Our rain chances will increase to 60% on Wednesday and Thursday.

"Wednesday is a better chance for storms. Already by Wednesday morning, we could have some rain, but we have another wave of more widespread rain and storms on Wednesday afternoon," said WRAL meteorologist Campbell.

Once we get into Friday and into the weekend, there will still be a chance for storms, but it will start to go down a bit.
