Fisherman believed drowned in Moore pond
Moore County authorities were searching Wednesday for a man believed to have drowned in a pond near Eagle Springs.
Posted — UpdatedEAGLE SPRINGS, N.C. — Moore County authorities were searching Wednesday for a man believed to have drowned in a pond near Eagle Springs.
The man, whose name hasn't been released, went fishing on Tuesday at Jordan Pond, off Chappell Road, authorities said. When he didn't show up for work Wednesday morning, friends went looking for him and found his abandoned boat on the pond.
Search teams hadn't located the body as of Wednesday evening.
