First freeze likely this weekend, snow possible in NC mountains

RALEIGH, N.C. — Wednesday will be the warmest day this week "by far," according to WRAL Elizabeth Gardner, and we could see our first freeze in the Triangle this weekend.

After a rainy night, Wednesday will be mild and dry, with highs in the low to mid 70s and partly cloudy skies.

Current Temperatures, DMA

Thursday will be cloudy with some patchy rain throughout the day and cooler temperatures with a high around 61 degrees.

By Friday, the chance for rain increases, and temperatures will drop significantly overnight and into Saturday morning.

Saturday and Sunday will be the coldest days of the week, with highs in the low 50s and a possible low of 32 degrees. It will be a time to bundle up and get out the winter coats for any outdoor ventures.
