952 new cases of coronavirus, 912 in hospitals across NC — North Carolina reported 952 new cases of the novel coronavirus on Wednesday as the state approaches 200,000 people who have tested positive for the virus since March. Most of those people recover, but 912 remain hospitalized for treatment of COVID-19.
Wake superintendent recommends elementary students return to classrooms daily by Nov. 16 — In a work session on Wednesday, Wake County Superintendent Cathy Moore recommended grades PreK-5 begin a three-week rotation of classes starting on Oct. 26. Students would attend classes for one week in person and then do two weeks of online learning. The plan recommends grades PreK-5 then return for daily in-person instruction by Nov. 16.
