DURHAM, N.C. — Investigators are trying to determine the cause of a small fire at a Durham school.

An automatic fire alarm went off Wednesday afternoon at Club Boulevard Elementary School, 400 W Club Boulevard.

When firefighters arrived, they saw smoke coming from a fire between the ceiling and roof of an annex building, Durham Fire Department Chief Bill Atkins said.

The fire was quickly extinguished and there was little damage.

No one was inside the building and classes had let out for the day.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation Wednesday evening.
