Fire stops livestock auction in Smithfield

Smithfield, N.C. — A fire stopped a livestock auction in Smithfield on Thursday.
The fire happened at 276 Packing Plant Road on Thursday afternoon, fire fighters said.
The cause of the fire was electrical, authorities said.
No animals or people were injured.
