Fire damages Clayton home

Two adults and two children were safely evacuated after their Clayton home caught fire Tuesday night.

CLAYTON, N.C. — Two adults and two children were safely evacuated after their Clayton home caught fire Tuesday night.

The fire, which broke out around 11 p.m., took 45 minutes for firefighters to extinguish.

It burned in the home’s attic and second floor.

The home is on North Church Street and was heavily damaged.

The Red Cross was helping the family find a temporary place to stay.
