Fire burns at Olive Garden in Fayetteville

A fire damaged portions of an Olive Garden restaurant early Wednesday morning.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A fire damaged portions of an Olive Garden restaurant early Wednesday morning.

Firefighters with the Fayetteville Fire Department responded to the restaurant at 234 N. McPherson Church Road, near Morganton Road, before 7 a.m. The restaurant was closed at the time.

According to the incident report, crews saw smoke coming from the roof of the Olive Garden. The fire originated in the kitchen but spread to the roof.

The fire was under control by 8 a.m., but firefighters remained at the site, where at least $8,000 in damages were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
