DUNN, N.C. — A fire at a Harnett County warehouse reignited early Wednesday morning. The initial fire started at about 10 a.m. at Warren Cricket Farm in Dunn on Tuesday.

Rubble left over from Tuesday's destruction caught back on fire early Wednesday morning. Much of the left over rubble was tin and wood, which is easily flammable, officials said.

Fire Marshall Rodney Daniels said employees initially reported smoke in the back of the building on Tuesday.

Daniels said firefighters were able to contain the fire to one building, but it took about four hours to get the fire under control.

"We haven't been able to make access to the fire very well. The fire is in the attic. This structure was compromised when we got here," Daniels said on Tuesday. "The roof is unstable so we had some trouble getting in there. It's got a plywood ceiling in there. We've had trouble penetrating it to get to the fire in the attic."

Power lines were also in the way when firefighters first arrived, Daniels said.

The building where the fire occurred is mostly wood, and officials said there are a lot of wood-framed structures where crickets are housed inside the building. There are nine buildings on the property that make up the cricket farm.

Three employees were standing outside when the fire started.

"I seen smoke, so we ran towards the house, and we seen some flames on the far let side. We ran into the house and ran to the other sand, and the roof above our heads was on fire, so we ran outside the other side and ran back and were waiting on the fire team," said Dallas Stewart, an employee at Warren Cricket Farm, on Tuesday

Firefighters from at least 10 fire departments in three different counties helped with the fire.

"We had some issues with water supply initially, so we brought in tankers to supplement the water," explained Daniels.

Officials said no injuries have been reported in the fire.

It is estimated the fire caused about $400,000 worth of damage.

Warren's Cricket Farm in Dunn is the largest cricket producer in North Carolina. It houses, breeds, sells and ships around 70 million crickets every year all over the United States.
