RALEIGH, N.C. — In just about 30 minutes, a fire at a Raleigh apartment complex on Tuesday left 12 homes uninhabitable.
At 12:15 p.m., Sky 5 video showed extensive smoke coming from the roof of a building at the Lexington on the Green complex along North New Hope Road near Louisburg Road and Capital Boulevard.
A resident said she spotted six fire trucks responding. Another reported a lot of smoke and flames.
"This is just very frightening," she said. "It could have been me."
By 12:40, the blaze was under control.
Firefighters said no one was injured. They are still investigating to determine the cause of the fire.
