DURHAM, N.C. — A fire at a Durham apartment complex forced some residents to evacuate Tuesday morning.

A fire broke out at a 3-story apartment building at Bay Creek Apartments on E. Hudson Ave.

Fire officials told WRAL's Brett Knese that no residents were hurt in the fire, although one firefighter was taken to the hospital with burns. No rescues were needed. The fire was extinguished in less than 20 minutes.

Durham Fire department reports that six apartment units had smoke and fire damage with three more having water damage.
