Planning with Parker: A day in the life of a planner (Financial Safari)
No day looks the same, but what's always the same is customized plans based on real world numbers. Here's what that looks like for the client.
financial safari. We are back on consumer advocate Steve Siddall and have the pleasure of sitting with the Parker Holland, chief wealth strategist of Capital Financial. Little segment we call planning with Parker, and what we're going to do right now is posed the question to Parker. So what is, you know, sort of a day in the life of a financial advisor, Somebody like you. Is there an average day? Well, there's not an average day, and a lot of people always ask me. I mean, what's the process that we go through when we're meeting with people doing these plans and all of that and and honestly depends on who you're talking about, Coach Marty. It's all completely different, but we all have our pieces we oversee. The biggest thing we focus on is more meeting with someone new. It's of course, getting the information together, and it's walking through a kind of a 3000 foot view of how we work. And then what we do is we sit down and we put every plan together personally looking at the biggest concerns, the biggest goals, and then also making sure all the appropriate boxes are checked and then when we sit back down with that individual, it's really world. Number is exactly what we're looking at in the best way to bridge any red flag or pothole that may occur, or just saying they're completely fine. Here's what it looks like and here's what the numbers are. And the other side of that, too, is when you with what we look at, it's always moving pieces. My biggest concern I have, for most people that are just getting second opinions or half current advisers, brokers, doesn't matter. What they are in place is they feel like they get the plant and it's kind of out of sight, out of mind, you need to sit back down. We meet with our clients multiple times, at least face to face. Once a year. We have the whole Skype office. Go to me, and that's fine. But you need to feel comfortable with your plan on top of your plan, and we see it too many times. I feel like a lot of places just file them away. One of the things that I find Capital Financial is when you walk in, it's very welcoming, first of all, and it's not intimidating, and I think a lot of people think that that first meeting is a little scary. But it's anything but. And the other side of it, too, is what drove me to working with coach and going independent from where I was previously was, I mean walking in. I was suited off. I had the time, and I'm from current. The jacket now and the other side of it was He just walked in and it makes you feel comfortable. It's more of a family orientation. It's a partnership. We answer to our clients, nobody else. And that's a big thing that separates us from most. There's no name on the wall other than capital, and the other side of that, too, is capital works for all of his clients. It doesn't work our answer to any subsidy overhead, and that that's comforting to know the independent part of that. But then, also, everyone has their specialty. In other words, if it sells the security or its Medicare, or whatever it might be. If you've got a question that you don't know the answer to, you've got a wealth of knowledge of people that you can call. I'm taking full credit for it when the time but again is a team approach, and that's what a lot of people forget to focus on. I mean, my backgrounds on the investment side. Coach Pete, He's done everything. Marty has a specialization on the income and tax planning, Greg with health care. I mean, there's so many pieces ever removing part in. Multiple people work on every plan we do, and that's a big piece to is. You will have a face to face contact for anything you might need and that planning you can rest assured, it's gonna be Coach Pete approved. That's not a joke. That's a reality. It ISS, and if it doesn't work in every scenario we're looking at, it's not gonna be approved. There's plenty of times we get told to go back to the drawing board, and if it doesn't work, it's not going to work in any scenario. And the biggest thing that we focus on is I don't want to base everything on the last 10 years. I don't want to base everything on what's happened in the past. We need to run multiple scenarios and make sure it works in 99.9%. Well, Thomas, you know that segment with Parker really demonstrated what we're all about were a true independent fiduciary planning firm and your needs a lot more important in our needs. And we spend a lot of time in the back room designing plans that fit where you're looking for. We say this a lot, and I don't know if people realize this, but we say that it's a customized plan. It really is. We start with a blank piece of paper when you come in, and by the time you're done, we have a full blown plan done up after after two or three meetings with you something an action plan, something you can believe in, something to be proud of. And it is vitally important that we get a market protection plan, a principal Plante principal protection of our money for retirement. And we've seen so many people wiped out with these market title ways. We don't want that to happen to anyone. So if you are one the next 10 callers who call right now we will design your very own customized plan based on your desires, and that is worth its weight in gold to give you that peace of mind and take the warrior out of living in retirement. Couldn't agree more. Go ahead and call on and take advantage of meeting with coach Marty Hensley's Parker. Greg burying a member of our team and get started. Get that total retirement plan in place.
