Filing period opens for some Wake candidates
The candidate filing period for some Wake County municipal elections opens Friday.

Anyone running for an elected position in Apex, Fuquay-Varina, Garner, Holly Springs, Knightdale, Rolesville, Wake Forest, Wendell and Zebulon can file as a candidate between noon Friday and noon July 15 at the Wake County Board of Elections office, at 337 S. Salisbury St. in Raleigh.
Candidates in Raleigh, Cary, Morrisville and Angier municipal elections and anyone running for the Wake County Board of Education can file at the elections office between July 25 and Aug. 12.
The elections for Raleigh, Cary and the Wake County school board will be held Oct. 11, and all other municipal elections will be held Nov. 8.
