CREEDMOOR, N.C. — A high school basketball game is postponed after a fight broke out Tuesday, school officials said.

South Granville High School was playing against Reidsville High School when the brawl started.

The game was suspended and will be played later without an audience, officials said.

It’s the second time in two months that a fight started at a high school basketball game.

In January, a crowd of students began fighting and pushing each other to the ground after a basketball game between Panther Creek High School and Green Hope High School.

Three off-duty Cary police officers were at the school to provide security, a number Cary police said is standard. More than a dozen other law enforcement officers responded to help in breaking up the fight.

The altercation resulted in extra security for the next game at Panther Creek.
