Fight at Fayetteville Hardee's Ends in Shooting
Police arrested a Fayetteville man Tuesday after he allegedly shot a man inside a Hardee’s at 5708 Yadkin Road.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Police arrested a Fayetteville man Tuesday after he allegedly shot a man inside a Hardee’s at 5708 Yadkin Road.
Donte J. Lucas, 20, of 6603 Abbey Lane, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
Lucas got into a physical fight with Larry D. Smith, 54, at about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, police said.
Lucas allegedly brought out a gun and shot Smith several times before leaving the restaurant. Officers later arrested Lucas.
Smith was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and was expected to survive.
