Fifteen cited for DWI at Raleigh checkpoint

Raleigh, N.C. — Law enforcement agents issued 76 citations against motorists at a checkpoint in southern Raleigh Friday night.
Fifteen people were charged with driving while impaired at the checkpoint at Tryon and Lake Wheeler roads, according to the Wake County Sheriff's Office. Agents also apprehended two people wanted on outstanding warrants.
The other citations included drug charges and motor-vehicle infractions.
The checkpoint was conducted by the Wake County Traffic Safety Task Force, comprised of most law enforcement agencies in the county.
