Feds link 'Chameleon Beard Bandit' to Durham bank robbery
The FBI asked Monday for the public's help to identify a bank robber dubbed the "Chameleon Beard Bandit" responsible for at least six holdups in three states.

Authorities said a Sept. 29 robbery of the Bank of America branch at 2 Park Drive in Research Triangle was the first heist he committed.
Since then, the FBI has linked him to the following robberies:
- 1st Trust Bank, London, Ky., Oct. 13
- Virginia Commonwealth Bank, Henrico, Va., Nov. 14
- Bank of America, Greensboro, Nov. 17
- Wells Fargo Bank, Roanoke, Va., Dec. 12
- Chase Bank, Longview, Texas, Jan. 5
During each robbery, he either showed a handgun or threatened that he had one, authorities said.
The robber is described as a white man in his mid to late 30s, with a medium build, between 5 feet 11 inches and 6 feet 2 inches tall and 180 to 240 pounds. He has brown eyes, brown hair, a light complexion, wears glasses and frequently changes the color of his beard.
The Richmond (Va.) Division of the FBI is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the man.
