The FDA is issuing another warning for Benadryl after some teens and children are intentionally overdosing on the antihistamine as part of a challenge on Tik Tok.

the FDA issued a warning for Benadryl, saying it's seeing serious problems with high doses of the medication, particularly, they say, teenagers are ending up in hospital emergency rooms or dying. Memorial Hermann pediatrician Victoria Regan says they could be very groggy and difficult to wake where they can actually be really irritable on hyper with it, Um, and just be not third normal personality. UM, it can affect heart rate breathing right in such a doses, get too high. The warning, started after a viral challenge on tick Tock, encouraged viewers to take excessive doses of Benadryl to induce hallucinations. Thean students prompted Johnson and Johnson, the maker of Benadryl, to issue it's own warning, saying this it is a dangerous trend and should be stopped immediately. Yeah, it's one of those drugs that we just don't want any over the counter drug, but this one in particular, we're really seeing some harmful side effects when people taking too much of it here in the ways you can spot your child has had too much. In mild cases, side effects include sleepiness, dry mouth, constipation. In severe cases, you may experience delirium, psychosis, seizures or a coma

I'm meteorologist, Amy Weu in the WRL severe weather center, only a 20% chance of rain today. And that's gonna be mainly in our southern counties this afternoon and this evening. So most will stay dry today. It's dry Thursday, dry Friday. But then over the weekend rain chances go up, it's about a 60% chance Saturday, a 70% chance Sunday it won't rain the entire day, both of those days. But I do think we at least have a good chance for some scattered showers and storms. Both of those days. We'll get some high resolution model data starting tomorrow. And hopefully we'll have a better idea of the timeline for today. Again, the best chance would be in the afternoon and evening in our southern counties. So south of the triangle and it's only a 20% chance for rain. So again, most will stay dry today, it will be dry and feeling like summertime tomorrow and Friday, high temperatures getting close to 90 both days. And then over the week, we do have the potential for rain on Saturday, it looks like the morning could stay dry, which would be great news for the Coen Race for the Cure. We're a proud sponsor of that event, so we're hoping that it stays dry for sure. But then as we get to the afternoon and evening, a little unsettled, we'll have some scattered showers, maybe a few thunderstorms on Sunday morning, a few showers in the morning, but a better chance for some of those scattered showers and storms heading into the second half of the day and some of that rain will linger into Monday as well. Monday appears fairly unsettled with scattered showers and a few thunderstorms and we could even have a few storms on Tuesday as well around town. Today, we do not expect any rain for most locations. It's only a 20% chance 84 for the high in Raleigh and Durham, 84 for the high in Fayetteville as well. So it's a warm day out there for outdoor practices this evening. It looks pretty good. Just that slim chance for rain, especially down to the south will be at 82 by 5 p.m. 79 at 6 p.m. and then down into the low to mid seventies by 8 p.m. So overall it looks pretty good, could have a little bit of patchy fog overnight tonight. And then tomorrow it's warm 88 with mostly sunny skies, 89 on Friday and then we're dodging some rain and storms over the weekend and that trend continues into Monday and Tuesday of next week.
