FBI posts billboards to catch serial bank robber

The FBI hopes billboards will help authorities apprehend a man wanted in 10 bank robberies in four states, including one in Fayetteville.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — The FBI hopes billboards will help authorities apprehend a man wanted in 10 bank robberies in four states, including one in Fayetteville.

The billboards, which feature bank security photos of the alleged robber and a phone number to provide tips, are located throughout North and South Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia, Georgia and Alabama.

The robber is believed to have held up 10 banks in the Carolinas, Tennessee and Kentucky since mid-May, including the Lumbee Guaranty Bank branch at 6313 Raeford Road in Fayetteville on July 6.

The robber is described as a white man between 5 feet, 8 inches and 6 feet tall and weighing 200 pounds. He has close-cropped brown hair and tattoos on both arms. He is believed to be driving a black Ford Bronco II.
