Fayetteville woman charged with murder after running over man with her car

Police charged a Fayetteville woman with first-degree murder after she apparently ran over a man with her car.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Police charged a Fayetteville woman with first-degree murder after she apparently ran over a man with her car.

Destiny Gauvin, 22, of the 200 block of Crabapple Circle, is being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under $500,000 secured bond.

Police charged her with the murder of Gary Puckett, 61, of the 5800 block of Horton Place, after responding to a domestic disturbance in the 900 block of Bingham Drive.

Officers determined Gauvin had intentionally struck Puckett after what they described as "a physical disturbance." Police did not characterize the relationship between the two.
