A Fayetteville man who fled after robbing a restaurant was arrested Wednesday night after being detained by a security guard. 

Police said that at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, Ian Thaddeus Kirk, 19, of the 2100 block of Cattail Circle grabbed a bank bag from a Baldino’s sub shop employee.

Kirk ran from restaurant, at 3018 Ft. Bragg Road, toward Fayetteville Technical Community College, where a security guard for the school chased and detained him.

Kirk was charged with common law robbery and possession of stolen goods. He was being held at the Cumberland County Detention Facility on $25,000 bond Thursday evening.
