Fayetteville teacher dismissed amid sex crime charges
A Cumberland County elementary teacher was dismissed for inappropriate contact with a student, schools spokeswoman Theresa Perry said Wednesday.
Posted — UpdatedAndrew Moore, 33, of the 5800 block of Century Oaks Drive in Fayetteville, was charged in April with multiple counts of taking indecent liberties with a child and taking indecent liberties with a student.
Police said that Moore inappropriately touched a 10-year-old student during class in February and March at T.C. Berien Elementary School and that witnesses reported the acts to school administrators.
Perry said the Cumberland County Board of Education passed a consent agenda this week that included Moore's dismissal from his job as a fifth-grade teacher at T.C. Berrien Elementary.
