FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Cumberland County police charged a teenager on Wednesday in the death of a Fayetteville man.

Cedric Darnell Williams, 17, of 1338 Shaw Road, outside Fayetteville, is charged with second degree murder in the Tuesday night shooting death of 24-year-old Ian Justin Smith, of 320 Ingram Street.

Investigators said Smith was shot multiple times as he was leaving Williams’ home shortly before 8 p.m. Investigators said the pair began to argue and Williams allegedly fired a gun at Smith as he exited the home.
