Fayetteville, Sanford women charged in motorcyclists' deaths

Charges were filed Friday against a Fayetteville woman and were upgraded against a Sanford woman in connection with collisions last weekend that killed two motorcyclists, Fayetteville police said.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Charges were filed Friday against a Fayetteville woman and were upgraded against a Sanford woman in connection with collisions last weekend that killed two motorcyclists, Fayetteville police said.

Wendy S. Sutton, 28, was charged with felony hit-and-run causing injury, misdemeanor death by vehicle, driving with a revoked license and unsafe movement causing injury to a motorcyclist. She was being held in the Cumberland County jail under $100,000 bond.

Neron R. Pratt, 34, of Saint Pauls, was thrown from his 2008 Yamaha motorcycle in the Sunday evening collision on Bingham Drive at the intersection of Lakeridge Drive and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sutton, who was driving a 2012 Toyota Camry, wasn't hurt in the crash, but her passenger, Doris B. Sutton, 47, of Fayetteville, was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.

Meanwhile, Jasmyne D. Russell-Dicker, 24, of Sanford, was charged with felony death by vehicle in a Sunday morning crash on Yadkin Road near Horseshoe Road that killed Patrick A. McDill, 22, of Fort Bragg.

Russell-Dicker was initially charged with driving while impaired and unsafe movement causing injury to a motorcyclist. She has been released after posting a $15,000 bond.
