FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — The Fayetteville Police Department on Thursday asked for the public's help to identify a man who robbed a woman at gunpoint two weeks ago.

The robbery occurred at about 7:50 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Cash Points automated teller machine at the Cross Point Center, at 5075 Morganton Road, police said. The woman was withdrawing cash from the ATM when she was approached by a stocky man with a blond beard who was wearing a knit hat.

The man was armed with a silver handgun and took the money the woman had just withdrawn, her debit card and the key to her vehicle, police said.

The robber got into a burgundy vehicle, possibly a Ford Taurus, that was missing the front right hubcap, police said. The driver was described as a thin man in his 20s who also was wearing a knit hat.

Anyone who can identify the robber is asked to call Fayetteville police at 910-433-1851 or Crime Stoppers at 910-483- TIPS.
