Fayetteville, N.C. — Police said Wednesday that they believe the same man is responsible for a series of robberies this week in which the robber displayed a knife or box cutter.
The robber isn't targeting a specific type of business, police said, but he usually strikes between 1 and 3 p.m.
On Monday, a Rite Aid on Morganton Road and a Chinese restaurant on Bragg Boulevard were robbed. A Kangaroo gas station on Skibo Road, a Wilco Hess gas station on Pamalee Drive and a shoe store on Bragg Boulevard were held up. A Kangaroo on Bragg Boulevard, a Payless Shoes store on Ramsey Street and a Scotchman gas station on Morganton Road were robbed Wednesday.
The robber is described as a black man in his late 30s to 50s, 5-foot-7 to 6 feet tall, with graying hair. He has worn various colors of polo shirts and button-down shirts, shorts, sandals or loafers and a baseball cap during the robberies and had a gold watch on his left wrist.
Witnesses said the robber left the crime scenes in a white Ford Expedition or Explorer.
