Suspect arrested after woman found dead in Fayetteville motel
A man wanted in connection with the death of a woman at a Fayetteville motel this week has been arrested, police said Friday.
Posted — UpdatedPhillip Jerome Little, 46, was taken into custody in Asheboro by State Bureau of Investigation agents and members of the Fayetteville Police Department's Violent Criminal Apprehension Team.
Officers responded to the Travel Inn, at 321 N. Eastern Blvd., shortly after 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and found Meoshia Corbett, 26, of Fayetteville, dead in one of the rooms after someone called police about a 2006 blue Jeep Cherokee that had possibly been stolen and was at the car wash next to the motel.
When officers arrived, they were alerted about the body and that Little had fled from the area in the blue SUV.
Little was said to be on parole for several crimes, including kidnapping with intent to kill, police said.
Naik said Little confessed to the slaying.
"He had left the room key and a note that (said), 'I killed somebody in my room,'" Naik said.
