FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A man accused of stealing a gun from a relative and then using it to shoot up a neighbor's house in Fayetteville is in custody.

Karon Peair Streets, 19, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Cesar Ivan Viera-Medina.

Streets was taken into custody on Saturday afternoon in Maryland by the Baltimore County Police Department's Fugitive Unit and will be extradited back to North Carolina.

Officers with the Fayetteville Police Department are searching for Karon Peair Streets, 19, who is considered armed and dangerous after a reported robbery at a home on N. Windsor Drive around 8:15 p.m. Police believe Streets is responsible.

Authorities believe that Streets took a handgun from a home on North Windsor Drive in Fayetteville around 8:15 p.m. on Thursday, then ran to a home in the same neighborhood and opened fire.

Police were investigating the robbery when the shooting happened.

"It's unsettling to know that it literally happened within steps of your house," said Crystal Waddell.

Anyone who knows where Streets is should contact Det. D. Arnett at 910-929-2565 or Crime Stoppers at 910-483-TIPS (8477).
